Chum Gum!I've been searching forever.. I love all of you, my wife thinks I'am nuts. I remember the gum in pink too but blue was better!!! I found an old wrapper while deep cleaning a while back in my store . Sadly, these were discontinued many . : . So many memories..Kids today have awesome technology but they didn't have chum gum, or even klick clacks please Kleer bring this gum back to us ! I know in some cases companies take over other companies and maybe the new companys equipment is not geared towards making a candy. None of my peers heard of it so I thought I was crazy. Only cough drop I like, only cough drop I will use. Hi, years ago, there was a candy by Brachs called chocolate nut goodies. King size bottles were worth 5 cents!!!! I am 63 (10/21/45) and have never forgotten my all time favorite chewing gum. Chum Gum was a Fleer exclusive, there were no past or present copycats out there. A selling Black jack and Beemans said he has a source that sellsChum Gum by the case. Too bad they don't make this anymore. . With the popularity of dark chocolate I would think that the Hollywood Candy Bar would have a huge following now Cant some company get the recipe and please bring it back. OMG! $1.62. I grew up in the 50's and use to sit on the river bank and blow away, while watching the St. Lawrence Seaway being built. I remember absolutely loving the flavor of this gum. CHUM GUM ---YUM!!! Peridex mouthwash may be useful in treating this. I rember how my mouth started watering for that flavor from the Gods.I bought all they had,never to see or taste it again :.(. I found, on Ebay (sorry, folks, no Fleer Chum Gum for sale), an old advertisement page, from a Chicago newspaper, for a candy/novelty company from 1938. Remember the gum in those cards? The flavor lasts for a while as well, long after the sugar is gone. Freeze the chum then pop it out of the container and put it in a zip lock bag for store. Hmmm. One thing we did find to be interesting was the fact that people were still finding Chum Gum for sale almost 20 years after it was officially discontinued. I found this particular page 'cause I was looking for references to gum that was made into little record albums. I should be able to find them today. The history for the stories behind Chum Gum is limited but to our knowledge, the gum was first produced in 1950 by Fleer Company. Chewed it daily growing up in Youngstown, OH during the 60's. Like another fan, I always licked the paper first and then chewed the gum. Mint Juleps were made by NECCO who went out of business in 2019 even though they were one of the oldest candy manufacturers! Does anyone remember Adams brand fruit flavored gumsgreen apple, grape, cherry, and so on? While Chum Gum was a bright spot in candy history for only a short time, its one worth remembering. I am from Texas and I used to buy it from a little Mom and Pop Grocery store that was across the street from my house! I used to earn my Chum Gum reward, however. it was a hot cinnamon flavored gum, I think it was made by the same company. I still remember the anticipation as I opened the wrapper, the powder, the amazing smell and taste. WHAT HAPPENED TO CHUM GUM? They made it into a round barrel shape and colored it pink. Best gum ever!!!!! I miss it so much. Hi, I am in Florence SC, and would Ike to find some of these new Unicorn Candy Corn in fruit flavors. Sure wish Fleer would produce this again. Please bring back the Milkshake candy bars again. One other candy I have not seen mentioned here was a MILK SHAKE CANDY BAR.
